Event Recap: Sweatworking Week Chicago (with recipes!)

Last month we teamed up with our friends at A Sweat Life and World of Whirlpool for a lunch-and-learn event during #sweatworking week Chicago! We had so much fun learning how to create delicious veggie-based meals, as well as how to incorporate bone broth protein into everyday recipes.  

Thanks to Chef Alia from World of Whirlpool for sharing her recipes with us! (Stay tuned for dessert... at the bottom of this post, we've included Ancient Nutrition's Recipe for Bone Broth Chocolate Chip Energy Bites)

Very Veggie Soul Bowl

 Veggies (choose 2)  Healthy carbs (pick 1)  Protein (choose 1-2)  Sauce (choose 1)  Additional garnishes
 Spiralized carrots  Cooked brown rice  Roasted chicken  Creamy Peanut Sauce   (recipe below)  Cilantro
 Spiralized English cucumber  Cooked quinoa  Hard-boiled eggs

 Bone Broth Caesar   (recipe below)

 Sliced scallions
 Baby spinach leaves  Roasted white or     sweet potatoes  Edamame  Sriracha  Avocado slices
 Shredded purple   cabbage  Spiralized veggie   noodles*  Chickpeas    Sesame seeds
 Roasted broccoli        Chopped peanuts or   cashews
 Sauteed kale        Microgreens

* zucchini, sweet potato, squash, and beet veggie noodles taste best lightly cooked

Assemble bowl with veggies, healthy carb and protein choices, and drizzle generously with sauce. Garnish to your heart's content and enjoy!

Creamy Peanut Sauce

Ingredients:

A drizzle of grapeseed oil

1 Tablespoon minced garlic

1 Tablespoon minced ginger

1 Cup natural, creamy peanut butter

2 Tablespoons tamari

1 Tablespoon sriracha

1 Tablespoon honey or maple syrup

1/2 Cup canned coconut milk

Directions:

In a small pan, heat oil and saute garlic and ginger until mellow, about 1 minute.

Add to a blender with peanut butter, tamari, sriracha, honey or maple syrup and coconut milk. Blend lightly.

Add water or additional coconut milk to achieve desired consistency.

Dairy-Free Bone Broth Caesar Dressing

Ingredients:

1/4 Cup hummus

2 teaspoons capers

2 teaspoons caper brine

1 teaspoon dijon mustard

2-3 garlic cloves, minced or pressed

3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 scoop Bone Broth Protein, Pure

Directions:

In a blender or food processor, pulse all ingredients until fully combined, leaving a little texture.

 

Bone Broth Protein Chocolate Chip Energy Bites

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups (or two 10 oz. jars) almond butter

1/4 Cup raw honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 Cup Bone Broth Protein Chocolate

1/2 Cup dark chocolate chips

Directions:

1. Stir almond butter, honey, vanilla, and sea salt together.

2. Add protein powder and combine thoroughly.

3. Stir in chocolate chips.

4. Form into balls and refrigerate for 2 hours. Enjoy!
